    Conor Oberst closed out his recent US tour with a performance at the Rock the Garden festival, presented by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and MPR's The Current, earlier this month. The set, for which he was backed by the Felice Brothers, featured songs from his Nonesuch Records debut album, Upside Down Mountain, and more. Fans around the world can now watch their performance of "Hundreds of Ways" here and hear the full set at thecurrent.org.

    The Arcs have unveiled a new track, "Outta My Mind," from their forthcoming album, Yours, Dreamily, due September 4. You can hear the song here and download it now when you pre-order the album, along with the previously released track "Stay in My Corner," which NPR noted for its "slinky, timeless feel, propelled with alluring ease by [Dan] Auerbach's falsetto and a lush instrumental backdrop." A 7-inch single featuring "Outta My Mind" will be released on July 10. The Arcs are Dan Auerbach, Leon Michels, Richard Swift, Homer Steinweiss, and Nick Movshon. Also on the album are Kenny Vaughan and Mariachi Flor de Toloache.

    Rhiannon Giddens's album Tomorrow Is My Turn is among NPR Music's 25 Favorite Albums of 2015 (So Far). "The first thought that takes over during a listen to Rhiannon Giddens' solo debut is: This woman can sing anything," exclaims NPR. "Stop marveling for a moment and this impeccably constructed, hotly executed collection reveals the brain and soul that feed the extraordinary voice." She kicks off a European tour in London on Tuesday. Also on the list is the debut album from Congolese band Mbongwana Star, From Kinshasa. The album, a World Circuit release distributed in North America by Nonesuch, "is at once earthy and totally futuristic," says NPR. "[Y]ou hear the band's metamorphic power throttling straight into the fringes of the great beyond."

    Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell's new album, The Traveling Kind, released earlier this year to critical acclaim, is now available on vinyl. The LP edition is pressed on 140-gram, audiophile vinyl and includes a download of the complete album. "Here, they consciously embrace the full breadth of their expression," says NPR. "This is what it sounds like when true equals, both deep into their journeys, draw out the best in each other." Rolling Stone says: "Their creative partnership sounds stronger than ever."

    Rhiannon Giddens, Emmylou Harris, and Rodney Crowell 's very special performance in The Gospel Tradition: In Performance at the White House, from April, receives its TV broadcast premiere on PBS stations across the US this Friday, June 26, at 9 PM ET. They join President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama and an esteemed group of performers, including Aretha Franklin, Darlene Love, and Lyle Lovett, to pay tribute to the fundamental role gospel music has played in the American musical tradition. Watch Giddens's concert performance of "Up Above My Head" here.

    In honor of groundbreaking American composer Terry Riley’s 80th birthday, Nonesuch Records releases One Earth, One People, One Love: Kronos Plays Terry Riley—a five-disc box set of four albums of his work composed for, and performed by, his longtime friends and champions Kronos Quartet—as well as the individual record Sunrise of the Planetary Dream Collector: Music of Terry Riley, today (July 10 outside of North America). You can take a quick look inside the box in a new video here. "All of the pieces," says the Independent, "are, typically, timeless." Kronos continues the celebration with its Terry Riley Festival this weekend at the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco.

    Lianne La Havas announces a month-long North American tour beginning September 23, with stops in NYC, LA, DC, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, and Austin, among others. The tour, featuring music from her new album, Blood, due July 31, follows previously announced performances at the Essence Festival in New Orleans and a sold-out pair of intimate evenings in LA and NYC. Tickets for the fall shows go on sale this Friday, June 26, and include a download of Blood available starting release day.

    Lianne La Havas has unveiled a music video for "What You Don't Do," the second single off her forthcoming album, Blood, which is due out later this year. The song has just premiered on BBC Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record. The video was directed by Leila and Damien De Blinkk.     In celebration of Father's Day, NPR's All Things Considered took at a look at the special nature of father-son collaborations in jazz and the unique music that can result from it. NPR's Audie Cornish spoke with bassist-composer Christian McBride, who is also a host of NPR's Jazz Night in America, about this, and their conversation began with a discussion of saxophonists Joshua Redman and his father Dewey Redman. The show opens with the father-son Redman duo performing John Coltrane's "India," from Joshua Redman's album Back East, released on Nonesuch Records in 2007. It was one of his father's last recordings before he died. "I loved hearing those two play together," says McBride. "It was something very, very special."

    St Germain (aka Ludovic Navarre), who will release his first album in 15 years with a self-titled record due October 9, has unveiled the music video for "Real Blues," the first single off the album. The video, directed by Charlotte Vasseneix, features the street artist GREGOS hanging casts of Navarre's face throughout the streets of Paris.     Songlines magazine has posted its list of the Top 25 Mali Albums, originally from the July 2013 issue of the magazine, and included are several artists and albums familiar to readers of the Nonesuch Journal: Ali Farka Toure, Toumani Diabaté, Amadou & Mariam, Rokia Traoré, Oumou Sangare, and Fatoumata Diawara. "Mali remains a wellspring of great music and culture," says Songlines. "After much deliberation, we are proud to present the top 25 albums to come from Mali, reminding us that there is an endless amount to celebrate in its music."

    Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell take the music of their acclaimed new duo album, The Traveling Kind, and their 2013 Grammy Award-winning album Old Yellow Moon, to Australia for a six-city tour, starting at Perth Concert Hall this Saturday, June 21. The tour continues with stops in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, and Gold Coast. "The way their voices blend is pure delight," exclaims the Australian in a four-star review of The Traveling Kind. "Both fall effortlessly in behind the other, never upstaging and always supporting." Following the Australia tour, Harris and Crowell take the tour to Europe and North America for dates through the summer and into the fall.
