Journal Topics: On TourWeekend EventsThursday,June 18,2015Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell take the music of their acclaimed new duo album, The Traveling Kind, and their 2013 Grammy Award-winning album Old Yellow Moon, to Australia for a six-city tour, starting at Perth Concert Hall this Saturday, June 21. The tour continues with stops in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Wollongong, and Gold Coast. "The way their voices blend is pure delight," exclaims the Australian in a four-star review of The Traveling Kind. "Both fall effortlessly in behind the other, never upstaging and always supporting." Following the Australia tour, Harris and Crowell take the tour to Europe and North America for dates through the summer and into the fall.

The tour continues with a return to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado next weekend, followed by stops at festivals across the US, including Celebrate Brooklyn!, as well as several shows with Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn over the next month. The band heads to the UK and Europe at the end of July, then resumes its US tour in mid-August, with dates through September with special guest Gabriel Kahane.

Tickets are on sale now. The current tour continues with stops in Toronto, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison and more in the coming days, culminating at Joe's Pub in New York City on June 25. She performs at the Glastonbury Festival on June 28.

The tour begins with two sets at the Highline Ballroom in NYC Wednesday for the Blue Note Jazz Festival, followed by shows in the US and festival sets across Canada through June. The European leg of the tour begins at the Love Supreme Jazz Festival in England on July 4. The US tour picks up again in October. "Full of genre-blending compositions and crafty rhythms," says The New Yorker, "the record shows that they are jazz outliers who remain primed for adventure."

Journal Topics: On TourWeekend EventsWednesday,June 3,2015Tyondai Braxton performs HIVE, the work that inspired his Nonesuch Records debut album, HIVE1, for a three-night residency at The Kitchen in NYC this Thursday through Saturday, June 4–6. The New Yorker calls the album "a beguiling, introspective new record," noting that the tracks, "which are transfixing, are marked by fragmented percussion grooves that weave in and out of warm analogue soundscapes." HIVE debuted at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC in 2013, created as a live multimedia work that was part architectural installation, part ensemble performance with five musicians seated atop their own oval pods designed by Danish architect Uffe Surland Van Tams.
