Hurray for the Riff Raff, following the announcement of their headline US tour last week and the start of their tour with Bright Eyes,  has just added a handful of additional performances for 2025. Extending their run of shows from spring and summer into fall, newly added stops include an appearance at Newport Folk Festival, dates with The Head and the Heart, and a special night in their new home city of Chicago, at Old Town School of Folk Music.

Hurray for the Riff Raff, just before the one-year anniversary of their acclaimed album The Past Is Still Alive, has shared their first new single and music video of 2025, “Pyramid Scheme.” The song embodies that record’s spirit of resilience and rebellion, with lyrical nods to Billy the Kid, Calamity Jane, Darby Crash, and Frida Kahlo. Carnegie Hall has announced its 2025–26 concert season, and featured among the performers taking its Zankel Hall stage are Timo Andres, Kronos Quartet, Davóne Tines, and Sō Percussion, all part of Carnegie's United in Sound: America at 250 festival, and heard throughout its halls will be works by Caroline Shaw, Gabriel Kahane, and Steve Reich.

The Amsterdam-based duo of Bolivian-born singer/instrumentalist Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and Chicago ex-pat jazz drummer Frank Rosaly have released a remix of "BALADA PARA LA CORPORATOCRACIA," from their debut album, MESTIZX, by Andy Moor, of the Dutch anarcho-punk band The Ex. "Andy has so much experience with communal music from around the globe ... but he’s also lived the life of a musical activist, which is apparent in everything he does," Ferragutti and Rosaly say. "We didn’t think 'BALADA PARA LA CORPORATOCRACIA' could get any filthier, but he proved us wrong!" Ferragutti, Rosaly, and their band tour the US in March, with shows in Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, NYC, and Big Ears Festival in Knoxville.

Cécile McLorin Salvant and Metropole Orkest, led by Darcy James Argue, end their tour in Eindhoven. Davóne Tines and THE TRUTH bring ROBESOИ to Brussels.

Punch Brothers begin a spring tour of the US on May 13 in Virginia Beach, culminating at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, June 19-22. Additionally, they complete the second season of their musical variety show, The Energy Curfew Music Hour, in NYC in February. The band also returns for the third year of the four-day Acousticamp June 27-July 1 in Pacific Grove, CA.

Steve Reich and Caroline Shaw are performed at Carnegie Hall, while Reich is also performed in Brooklyn, and Ringdown—Shaw and Danni Lee Parpan—performs in Portland. John Adams is performed by the San Francisco Symphony. Jeremy Denk is also in San Francisco, with Takács Quartet, at Hertz Hall. Gabriel Kahane and his father Jeffrey Kahane are at Northwestern, while Cécile McLorin Salvant is at Yale.
