    Randy Newman's debut performance on Austin City Limits will receive an encore broadcast when the show airs the 2011 episode on PBS this weekend. "With songs that run the gamut from heartbreaking to satirical and a host of unforgettable film scores," says the show, "Randy Newman has used his many talents to create musical masterpieces widely recognized by generations of audiences." The show first aired in November 2011, the same week his latest album, Live in London, was released on Nonesuch Records.     Ruthie Ann Miles, who plays Imelda Marcos in David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's musical Here Lies Love, and her co-star Conrad Ricamora, who plays Ninoy Aquino, were joined by a few of their fellow cast members to perform "I Am a Child of the Philippines" on Fox 5's Good Day NY this morning. Miles and Ricamora also spoke a bit about the musical, which is now playing at the Public Theater in New York City. You can watch the segment here.

    The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney recently stopped by Grimey's record store in Nashville to look through the vinyl stacks and talk with CBS's Anthony Mason about the recent resurgence in vinyl. The piece, titled "Vinyl's Got Its Groove Back," which aired on today's CBS This Morning, delves into what makes vinyl so special, looks at how it's made, considers its unique sound and feel, and talks to the band mates, "avid fans of the vinyl LP," about why it was so important to them that their latest album, Turn Blue, as with all their earlier albums, be released on vinyl.     Conor Oberst capped off a week celebrating the release of his new album, Upside Down Mountain, with an appearance on CBS This Morning: Saturday. He was backed by the band Dawes to perform two tracks from the new album: “Hundreds of Ways” and “You Are Your Mother’s Child.” You can watch both, as well as a web-exclusive performance of “Time Forgot” below. Oberst’s tour with Dawes as special guests continues in the Midwest this week.

    Conor Oberst was musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC last night, joined by Dawes to perform "Zigzagging Toward the Light," off his just-released album, Upside Down Mountain. He recently stopped by Last.fm to talk about and perform "Hundreds of Ways" and "Double Life" off the new album. Watch all of these performances and the interview here. The New York Times says: "All of Mr. Oberst’s gifts align on Upside Down Mountain." He can be heard on NPR's World Cafe this afternoon and performs at Rough Trade NYC in Brooklyn tonight.

    The Black Keys marked the release of their new album, Turn Blue, yesterday with an appearance on The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. The band spoke with Stephen Colbert about the new album and performed the single "Fever." You can watch the interview and "Fever" plus a web-exclusive performance of the album's title track here. Patrick Carney will chat with iTunes via Twitter today at 2 PM ET and lead a Reddit AMA at 3 PM ET.

    The Black Keys returned to Saturday Night Live this past weekend as musical guests, performing two songs from their new album, Turn Blue. The band returns to late-night TV with a performance on the Late Show with David Letterman tonight and an appearance on The Colbert Report tomorrow. Earlier today, The Black Keys will be on the webcast concert series Live on Letterman, performing live from the Ed Sullivan Theater in NYC, webcast on CBS.com, after 7:30 PM ET.

    Natalie Merchant performed two sold-out shows at Milton Court Concert Hall in London over the weekend and stopped by BBC Radio 2's Weekend Wogan for a live session. She performs on BBC Two's Later ... with Jools Holland Tuesday and again on Friday. She joins philosopher Alain de Botton in East London on Thursday to discuss her new album and returns to Milton Court on Sunday for another sold-out concert, this time with several label mates, for a celebration of roots music for the Barbican’s Explorations: The Sound of Nonesuch Records.

    Conor Oberst has announced several additional tour dates for this fall, including concerts in Boulder, Austin, Dallas, Seattle, Portland, and more. He will also co-headline the Greek Theatre in LA with John Prine on October 5. Oberst will perform on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on May 19, the release date for his new album, Upside Down Mountain, and CBS This Morning: Saturday on May 24. He will perform at Rough Trade NYC in Brooklyn on May 20.

    The Black Keys, after performing “Fever,” from their new album, Turn Blue, on Che Tempo Che Fa in Italy Sunday, performs on BBC Two’s Later … with Jools Holland tonight and Friday. On Wednesday, The Black Keys perform on BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. The band is featured on the cover of the new issue of Mojo magazine (pictured at left), and Turn Blue is Album of the Month in Uncut, which exclaims: “Turn Blue turns out to be The Black Keys’ sneakiest, subtlest and most seductive album.” The Independent gives it five stars, calling it "a post-modern blues-rock marvel."

    The Black Keys will return to Saturday Night Live for their third musical guest appearance on May 10. The program will be hosted by Charlize Theron and will feature songs from the duo’s new album, Turn Blue, which will be released the following Tuesday, May 13, on Nonesuch Records. "Fever," the first single off the album, is currently #1 on AAA radio and #5 on Alternative radio.

    Carolina Chocolate Drops' Rhiannon Giddens is featured on the latest episode of Nurse Jackie, airing on Showtime this Sunday, April 20. She performs four traditional tunes, backed by her bandmate Hubby Jenkins and three other old-time musicians, with Giddens doing square dance calls and playing fiddle. The episode is available now via Showtime's online streaming service, Showtime Anytime. The New York Times, reviewing Carolina Chocolate Drops' recent show in Brooklyn, called it a "rollicking, revelatory concert," lauding Giddens as "ridiculously charismatic." Times columnist Paul Krugman called the show "totally amazing."
