Conor Oberst performed his new album, Ruminations, in its entirety at NYC's Housing Works Bookstore Cafe last Friday; the performance was webcast live via NPR Music's Facebook page. You can now watch three songs from the set: "Tachycardia," "Gossamer Thin," and "A Little Uncanny." "Ruminations is one of Conor Oberst's most personal records," says NPR Music's Bob Boilen, "a collection of brave, dark songs ... that are unmistakably moving and contain some of Oberst's best lyrics and imagery." NPR Music will soon post the full concert, but these three tracks "establish the sound of the record, spare and lyric-based. These are the sounds of hard moments, elevated through beautiful music and a true poetic touch." Boilen includes "A Little Uncanny" on the latest episode of All Songs Considered. Ruminations is BBC Radio 6 Music's Album of the Day today.

Devendra Banhart, whose new album, Ape in Pink Marble, was released on Nonesuch Records on Friday, has unveiled the official music video for the album track "Saturday Night." The video was directed by Jon Beasley and Isabelle Albuquerque of Osk Studio. Banhart says: "I'm so excited and honored to have had Osk Studio make this music video for 'Saturday Night.'" Composer Nico Muhly and singer/songwriter Teitur have released a second song off their forthcoming album, Confessions, due October 21: "Don't I Know You from Somewhere." The track is available to download now with pre-orders of the album, along with the previously released album opener, "Describe You." The album's lyrics were inspired by video the pair found on YouTube. In 2009, Muhly, Teitur, and Holland Baroque toured the Netherlands, performing Confessions with the videos that inspired it, such as the one seen here for "Don't I Know You from Somewhere," projected behind the players.

Lake Street Dive stopped by the Bose studios to give a Bose Better Sound Sessions set, performing two songs from its Nonesuch Records debut album, Side Pony—"Godawful Things" and "Mistakes"—and sharing what music means to them. You can watch the session here. The band resumes its US tour in August and is on the road through November, when it heads to the UK and Ireland.

Audra McDonald joined scores of fellow members of the Broadway community last week to record Burt Bacharach / Hal David's "What the World Needs Now Is Love" for a new charitable initiative, Broadway for Orlando. The song, released by Broadway Records, is available to purchase at the label's site. The recording was made to honor the victims of the Orlando shooting massacre at Pulse nightclub; 100% of the proceeds from sales of the song will benefit the GLBT Center of Central Florida. Audra McDonald, currently on Broadway in Shuffle Along, joined The Late Late Show host James Corden for a very special, all-Broadway Carpool Karaoke last night, along with Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda; Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson, now on Broadway in Fully Committed; and 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski, now in She Loves Me. Corden, who hosts the Tony Awards this Sunday, and crew rode through NYC singing out show tunes from Hamilton, Rent, Jersey Boys, and, Les Misérables. Watch it here.

Tigran Hamasyan was among the winners at the ECHO Jazz 2016 Awards. He took part in the awards ceremony held at Kampnagel in Hamburg on May 26, which was broadcast on NDR, receiving his award for International Instrumentalist of the Year, Piano, for his album Mockroot and performing the album track "Lilac." You can watch the performance here. Among the other winners were James Farm, named International Ensemble of the Year for its album City Folk, and Brad Mehldau, who received a special prize for his box set 10 Years Solo Live.

Laurie Anderson, in an interview with the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark's Louisiana Channel, offers some sage advice to people both young and old. She suggests that applying a term as broad as "multimedia artist" to herself has helped keep her work from being pigeonholed and concludes: "Whatever makes you feel really free and really good, that's what to do. It's really simple." You can see what else she has to say in the video here. In another video, she discusses her correspondence with John F. Kennedy in 1960, which informed her new piece The Language of the Future: Letters to Jack.

Laurie Anderson's new film, Heart of a Dog, which opens in cinemas in the UK and Ireland this Friday, was shown in select screenings last week: one at the Brighton Festival, of which she is guest director, and two in London, including one for a very special audience of dogs (and their human companions). The Guardian was at that last event and has published a video taking a look behind the scenes. You can watch it here.

Sam Amidon and guitarist Bill Frisell are the guests on the eTown radio show. Following Frisell's set, Amidon makes his eTown debut performing three songs from his latest album, Lily-O—"Down the Line," "Walkin' Boss," and "Your Lone Journey"—as well as "Another Man Done Gone," from an earlier album, and joins host Nick Forster for a conversation about his life and music. Michael Daves celebrated the release of his new two-album set, Orchids and Violence, with a series of live NYC performances, culminating at The Bell House in Brooklyn on March 5. As on the album, the concerts featured both acoustic and electric takes on mostly traditional bluegrass songs, including Ralph Stanley's "Pretty Polly." You can now watch videos of both version of the song from the concert here. Daves and friends will mark the May 6 release of the album's vinyl edition at Littlefield in Brooklyn on May 19.

Lake Street Dive has unveiled the video for "I Don't Care About You," off the album Side Pony. The video, filmed by Greg Kaplan at the famed Electric Lady Studios in NYC, premiered via Shazam yesterday and can now be seen here. Members of the band will take part in a Reddit AMA this Friday, April 1 (no fooling); fans can ask them anything at reddit.com/r/music at 1 PM ET. The band kicks off its European tour next week and resumes its US tour in late May.
