Tyondai Braxton releases “Dia" / "Phonolydian”—his first new music in five years—on Nonesuch Records today. The two new tracks feature Braxton on electronics and were recorded in his home studio in Bearsville, New York. They mark the beginning in a series of new releases to continue through the new year. Braxton also announces Multiplay, a three-show residency at Public Records in Brooklyn comprising solo sets with special guests Leila Bordreuil and Lea Bertucci & Ben Vida in January and February, respectively, and a duo set with Greg Fox in March. 

The Black Keys’ four-CD Super Deluxe 10th anniversary edition of their landmark seventh studio album, El Camino, is available today on Nonesuch Records. Following the November vinyl and digital release of music from the project, the four-CD version comprises a remastered version of the original album; a previously unreleased recording of a March 6, 2012, concert in Portland, ME.; a BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe session from 2012; a 2011 Electro-Vox session; an extensive photo book; and a limited-edition lithograph. Today also marks the tenth anniversary of the band's performance of the El Camino tracks "Lonely Boy" and "Gold on the Ceiling," which the show has just shared again and can be seen here.

Composer, singer, and instrumental polymath Ben LaMar Gay's new album, Open Arms to Open Us, is out today on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records, and lives up to NPR's claim that "there is no one universe for Ben LaMar Gay, he just sonic booms from one sound to another." On the album, recorded at International Anthem studios in Chicago, Gay interweaves jazz, blues, ballads, R&B, raga, new music, nursery rhyme, Tropicália, two-step, hip-hop, and beyond in his most colorful and communicable work yet, an expression of his signature omni-genre, "Pan-Americana" brew.

Jeff Parker’s solo guitar album Forfolks is due December 10 on International Anthem / Nonesuch Records (CD om December 17). The album includes interpretations of Thelonious Monk's “Ugly Beauty” and the standard “My Ideal,” plus six original compositions: two earlier tunes, “Four Folks” and “La Jetée,” and four new loop-driven, stratiform works that marry melodic improvisation with electronic textures. Parker will co-headline a US tour with Steve Gunn in December and next spring.

Joshua Redman and Cécile McLorin Salvant are among the artists to contribute tracks to Relief, a compilation of previously unreleased music to benefit Jazz Foundation of America, out today. Redman's track, "Facts," is from the sessions for his 2018 Nonesuch album Still Dreaming, with cornetist Ron Miles, bassist Scott Colley, and drummer Brian Blade; Salvant performs "Easy Come, Easy Go Blues." Both can be heard here. All net proceeds from Relief will go to JFA's Musicians’ Emergency Fund, which provides direct financial support to musicians in need.

The Black Keys' special tenth anniversary edition of their landmark seventh studio album El Camino is out now on Nonesuch Records. El Camino (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) is available in a Super Deluxe edition of five vinyl LPs—a remastered version of the original album; a previously unreleased Live in Portland, ME concert recording; a BBC Radio 1 Zane Lowe session from 2012; a 2011 Electro-Vox session; an extensive photo book; a limited-edition poster and lithograph; and a “new car scent” air freshener—digitally, and in a three-LP edition, which includes the remastered album and the live recording. A four-CD version of the Super Deluxe is due December 3. The Black Keys are hosting a watch party for the BBC session through Sunday.

Singer/songwriter Cécile McLorin Salvant makes her Nonesuch Records debut with the release of Ghost Song on March 4, 2022. The new album features a diverse mix of seven originals and five interpretations on the themes of ghosts, nostalgia, and yearning. Salvant says, “It’s unlike anything I’ve done before—it’s getting closer to reflecting my personality as an eclectic curator. I’m embracing my weirdness!” A video for the album track “Ghost Song,” written by Salvant, can be seen here. LIFE ON EARTH, the Nonesuch debut of Hurray for the Riff Raff (aka Alynda Segarra), due February 18, is a departure for the Bronx-born, New Orleans-based singer/songwriter. Its eleven new "nature punk" tracks on the theme of survival are music for a world in flux—songs about thriving, not just surviving, while disaster is happening. The album was recorded during the pandemic with producer Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, Bon Iver, Kevin Morby). While making it, Segarra drew inspiration from The Clash, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Bad Bunny, and the author of Emergent Strategy, adrienne maree brown. "A major step forward for one of today's most vital artists," exclaims Uncut. "The first great album of 2022." Nonesuch Records releases "Sweaters (Sam Gendel Remix)," the saxophonist’s reinterpretation of the Laurie Anderson track from her landmark 1982 debut album, Big Science, today. On the remix, which Gendel produced and engineered, he plays alto saxophone, contrabass guitar, and wind synthesizer, while incorporating elements of the original recording, including Anderson’s vocals and violin, Rufus Harley's bagpipes, and David Van Tieghem's drums.

Punch Brothers’ newest album, Hell on Church Street, is due January 14, on Nonesuch Records. It is the band’s reimagining of, and homage to, the late bluegrass great Tony Rice’s landmark solo album Church Street Blues, with songs by Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Bill Monroe, and others. Preorders from the Nonesuch and Punch Brothers stores include a limited-edition print signed by the band while supplies last. Jeremy Denk’s Mozart Piano Concertos is now available on Nonesuch Records. Denk is joined by The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra for two Mozart concertos—No. 25 in C Major, K. 503 and No. 20 in D minor, K. 466—bookending the composer’s solo Rondo in A minor, K. 511. "Denk approaches everything with questing intelligence and energy," says the Observer.
