Steve Reich's complete string quartets—Different Trains, Triple Quartet, and WTC 9/11—will be performed by ACME at New York's (Le) Poisson Rouge tonight, with the composer in attendance. The program features the world premiere of the all-live version of WTC 9/11, a piece that reflects on the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2011. There will be a pre-concert conversation with the composer. The concert will be streaming and videocast live via NPR and Q2 Music.

Emmylou Harris, Rokia Traoré, Fatoumata Diawara, and Oumou Sangare are participating in 30 songs / 30 days, in which female musicians from around the world have come together to support the Half the Sky movement. Through the 30 songs / 30 days project, one song per day is available to download for the month of September and leading up to the October 1 & 2 premiere of Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, a four-hour PBS documentary inspired by the widely acclaimed book of the same name by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. 

Robert Wilson and Philip Glass's famed 1976 opera Einstein on the Beach is the subject of a feature article in the Sunday New York Times that looks at the work's historical significance as a new production lands at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) September 14–23. Q2 Music launches Music of Constant Change: A Philip Glass Festival, running though September 9, surveying the composer's career through music, interviews, videos, and a live videocast of a conversation and performance featuring Glass and members of the current tour of Einstein on the Beach.

Lianne La Havas, whose debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, was released in the US yesterday to great critical acclaim, recently visited the NYC studio of the Associated Press to perform the album tune "No Room for Doubt," sat down for a live performance and fan Q&A on Livestream; and stopped by Rivington Guitars to talk with The Warner Sound. Sara Watkins performed at the 2012 Newport Folk Festival over the weekend, and NPR Music was there to capture the set. Watkins performed songs from her self-titled solo debut album and her latest album, Sun Midnight Sun, which NPR’s Stephen Thompson calls “a smart, surprising collection of sweetly hooky songs that rest within pop, country and folk on the Venn diagram of musical genres.” Listen to the set now at npr.org. Lianne La Havas' debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, is due out on August 7. But you don't need to wait till then to hear it. The album is streaming in full all this week as an NPR First Listen. "Lianne La Havas possesses a rich, expressive voice—but also, more importantly, a keen understanding of when to dial it back," says NPR, which calls the album "terrific," a "hyper-accessible entry point into a smart, sophisticated sound world." La Havas performs a special acoustic set and answers fans' questions live this Friday, August 3, at 4 PM ET, via Livestream.

British singer/guitarist Lianne La Havas has debuted at #4 on the UK album charts this week with her full-length album Is Your Love Big Enough?. The album is set for US release on August 7 and is available to pre-order now. La Havas’ live show, described as “stunning" by The New Yorker, has been lauded by critics and fellow musicians alike. Look for North American tour dates to be announced soon. In the meantime, fans can live stream her sold-out show at London's Village Underground today at 4 PM EST.

The Nonesuch album featuring works by composer Krzysztof Penderecki and those they inspired by composer/guitarist Jonny Greenwood itself stemmed from a concert in Poland last fall that presented the composers' works side by side. Tonight, the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra, which performed in the original concert and on the album, performs the works at the Open'er Festival in Gdynia, Poland. The concert will be streaming live at 8 PM CEST (2 PM EDT) at youtube.com/opener.

Shawn Colvin's new album, All Fall Down, is due out next week. But you don't need to wait till then to hear it. The album is streaming in full till then at Performing Songwriter. "Colvin has uncovered, polished and delivered another wellspring of personal and poetic gems for her fans," writes Performing Songwriter. "[E]very song’s foundation is built on Colvin’s trademark rhythm and poetry, and topped off with that fearless honesty that has resonated with her fans for over 20 years." USA Today calls the title track "among her best."

The Sara Watkins–penned tune "You and Me," off her new album, Sun Midnight Sun, has been chosen as Today's Top Tune by KCRW in LA. The song, which Watkins recently performed on The Tonight Show, features harmony vocals by Jackson Browne, with whom she tours later this summer. Watkins, one of the most frequent guest artists on A Prairie Home Companion, will join host Garrison Keillor and fellow guest Shawn Colvin for a live broadcast of the show from Wolf Trap's Filene Center outside DC this weekend.

Amadou & Mariam perform in A Room for London, a one-bedroom riverboat installation lodged atop the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, tonight, as part of the Sounds from a Room series. It will be projected live via large screen at Queen Elizabeth Hall and stream live online at aroomforlondon.co.uk. Earlier events at A Room for London include new sound works from Laurie Anderson and David Byrne. Other performers in the series include Andrew Bird, Imogen Heap, Baaba Mal, and tUnE-yArDs.

Congratulations to Björk, who received the Artist of the Year Award at the 16th Annual Webby Awards in a ceremony in New York City last night. The Webbys honor excellence on the Internet. Björk's latest album, Biophilia, was also released as a suite of Apps, with a dedicated App for each song on the album. She was introduced last night by Scott Snibbe, who led the team of Biophilia App developers. All Webby winners are kept to five-word acceptance speeches; you can watch Björk's in the video coverage here.
