    The Arcs will perform music from their forthcoming debut album, Yours, Dreamily, due Friday, September 4, at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe on Wednesday, September 9, in New York City as the first concert of the season in NPR Music's First Listen Live series. Tickets to this extremely intimate show will be available exclusively through a trivia contest on NPR Music's Twitter on Monday, August 31, and Tuesday, September 1.     The Arcs' debut album, Yours, Dreamily, out next Friday, September 4, is streaming in full till then in various spots around the world. "Right from the drop, Yours, Dreamily, ignites like a cigarette flicked on a stream of gasoline," exclaims NPR. It's "one of [Dan] Auerbach's most ambitious and fully realized albums." "Dan Auerbach never fails to impress," writes NME, calling The Arcs "a laid back, gritty soul collective." CBC Music says: "Yours, Dreamily, feels off the cuff, inspired, and is a completely immersive experience."

    Natalie Merchant has unveiled a short video of outtakes from her forthcoming film album and film, Paradise Is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings, featuring the song "Beloved Wife." In the video, people share their heartfelt stories of what the song has meant to them, accompanied by footage of Merchant performing the song live with her band. You can watch it here.

    The Arcs recently stopped by The Village recording studios in LA, where they performed a live take of "Stay in My Corner," off Yours, Dreamily, their forthcoming debut album. You can watch the performance, which premiered via Rolling Stone, plus recently unveiled performances of "Outta My Mind" and "Put a Flower in Your Pocket" from the same session here. All three album tracks are available to download now with pre-orders of the new album.

    Conor Oberst, while on tour for his Nonesuch Records debut album, Upside Down Mountain, performed at the House of Blues in Boston this past June. The WGBH program Front Row Boston was there to capture the event. You can now watch the full set, including several songs from Upside Down Mountain, Bright Eyes tunes, and more, here. Oberst tours the West Coast with M. Ward and The Felice Brothers this fall.

    The Arcs recently stopped by The Village recording studios in Los Angeles, where they performed a live take of "Outta My Mind," the first single off Yours, Dreamily, their forthcoming debut album. You can watch the performance here. The album track "Outta My Mind," which is available to download now with pre-orders of Yours, Dreamily, has garnered critical acclaim, with Vulture praising its "raw, bare-bones appeal," and Spin noting its "barrage of deliciously reverbed, strung-out riffs." The song is also featured on a 7-inch single with non-album track "My Mind."

    The David Byrne–curated Meltdown festival gets under way at the Southbank Centre in London tonight, continuing through Sunday, August 30. Among Meltdown's many special events, Byrne and band celebrate African funk master William Onyeabor, he joins Young Jean Lee for the London debut of We’re Gonna Die, and Jonny Greenwood and LCO perform his score to There Will Be Blood at a screening of the film. BBC Radio 6 Music celebrates with a series of programs featuring Byrne, including his debut as a 6 Music presenter. "It’s a lot of fun when you do these kind of things you can introduce music," says Byrne, "and people will give you the benefit of the doubt and give it a listen which is a little bit of what’s it’s about."

    Nonesuch releases Natalie Merchant's Paradise Is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings on November 6, 2015. This collection of all-new recordings revisits Merchant's multi-platinum solo debut, Tigerlily. The new release is accompanied by a documentary DVD. The memoir-style film contains live performances, archival footage, and interviews with musicians, friends, and fans about the influence the songs of Tigerlily have had over the past 20 years. Paradise Is There is available to pre-order at iTunes and in the Nonesuch Store. Tour dates to support the release will be announced soon.

    The Arcs, whose debut album, Yours, Dreamily, is due out September 4, have unveiled the video for a new track off the album, "Put a Flower in Your Pocket." The video was directed by "El Oms" (artist Omar Juarez)—who created the art for the Yours, Dreamily, album cover and vinyl 7-inch singles for the tracks "Stay in My Corner" and "Outta My Mind"—and premiered today via Noisey, which calls the track "dirty, bluesy soulful music with a reverbed, modern twist." Watch it here. The track premiered on Zane Lowe's show on Beats 1 earlier in the day.
