A remastered, expanded edition of the soul-stirring 2005 benefit album Our New Orleans is available on vinyl from Nonesuch Records. The expanded edition includes five previously unreleased tracks as well as the original performances by Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Irma Thomas, Wild Magnolias, Buckwheat Zydeco, Randy Newman, and others. The album has thus far raised $1.5 million Habitat for Humanity’s post-Katrina rebuilding effort. Allen Toussaint performs Paul Simon's "American Tune" on Austin City Limits in 2009. Toussaint later recorded the song for his 2016 posthumously released album American Tunes. It was the last track cut in the final session for the disc.

Here is a preview of American Tunes, the final recording from legendary New Orleans musician Allen Toussaint. The album as produced by Joe Henry and features both solo piano recordings made at Toussaint's home studio in New Orleans and those made in Los Angeles with a band including Jay Bellerose, Bill Frisell, Greg Leisz, Charles Lloyd, and David Piltch, and special guests Rhiannon Giddens and Van Dyke Parks. On the album are works by Toussaint, Professor Longhair, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, and Paul Simon, among others.
