The 41st Anniversary Telluride Bluegrass Festival kicks off in Telluride, Colorado, this morning and continues through the weekend to coincide with the summer solstice, with performances from Chris Thile, who opens the festivities, Nickel Creek and Punch Brothers, as well as workshops from Sara Watkins and Sean Watkins, and Punch Brothers' Chris Eldridge and Noam Pikelny. As has become a Telluride tradition, Punch Brothers close out the weekend's proceedings with a late-night show in Sheridan Opera House Sunday night. The festival will stream live from KOTO.org.

The tour includes shows across the US, including the Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, and more, before heading to the UK and Europe in late August. The band hits the road in the US again this fall.

Special guests during the extensive tour include Cage The Elephant, Jake Bugg, and St. Vincent. The tour begins September 5 in Columbus, Ohio, and runs through December. The concert, featuring songs from his new album, Abraçaço, earned five stars from the Times and Guardian, both of which call it a "masterclass," and The Arts Desk. The Times also calls it "a perfect evening," the Guardian "exquisite." The Arts Desk says: "Caetano Veloso gets more extraordinary." Veloso tours the US this fall.

In celebration, Harris and producer Daniel Lanois, along with Jim Wilson on guitar and Steven Nistor on drums, kicked off an international tour in North America then and now launch the European leg of the tour with a concert at Carre in Amsterdam tonight. The tour continues with stops in Antwerp, Eindhoven, Brighton, and Bristol, and a two-night run at the Barbican in London.

The album, due out next Monday, May 19, in North America, is streaming in full all this week via the Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy blog. Toumani and Sidiki Diabaté will embark on a US tour starting at BAM in Brooklyn, September 24, and running through October 3.
