    Lianne La Havas was the musical guest on the Conan show last night on TBS, performing "Unstoppable," from her album Blood and her new EP, Blood Solo, out tomorrow. You can watch the performance here, plus a web-exclusive performance of "Grow." La Havas will be a presenter at the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, where Blood is nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album, on Monday. Tickets for her tour supporting Leon Bridges this fall go on sale Friday.

    Lake Street Dive was the musical guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night. The group, which will make its Nonesuch debut with the release of its new album, Side Pony, on February 19, performed "Call Off Your Dogs" from the forthcoming album. You can watch it here. The album track "Call Off Your Dogs" is available to download now with pre-orders of Side Pony.The band will tour North America in February and March and head to Europe and the UK to tour in April.

    Rhiannon Giddens was the subject of a feature profile on CBS Sunday Morning, looking at her life in music, as a founding member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops; following her show-stopping performance at the Another Day, Another Time concert; and since the release of her Grammy-nominated solo debut album, Tomorrow Is My Turn. "How often can you witness a moment that changes a career?" says Sunday Morning's Martha Teichner of the concert. "Giddens was like a musical explosion onstage. What happened next was like an explosion in her life." Watch it here.

    Laurie Anderson's Heart of a Dog will receive its HBO premiere on April 25. The film is still playing at theaters across the US, having landed on a number of year's best lists, including those of the New York Times and New York magazine. A unique three-minute version of the film is showing on Times Square's electronic billboards each night this month starting at 11:57 PM as part of Midnight Moments.     A Celebration of American Creativity: In Performance at the White House, with President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and performances from Audra McDonald and a host of fellow artists, premieres on PBS stations across the US tonight at 9 PM ET. The performances commemorate the 50th anniversary of the National Foundation on the Arts and the Humanities Act. McDonald's portrayal of Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill will premiere on HBO on March 12. She will take part in an all-star tribute to Lena Horne at Symphony Space in NYC this Tuesday and lead two shows at the Leicester Square Theatre in London on January 17. Audra McDonald returns to Broadway in Shuffle Along this spring; previews begin March 15.

    Rhiannon Giddens helped ring in the New Year with a performance on Jools Holland's annual Hootenanny. She gives her always show-stopping performance of "Waterboy" and of the Sister Rosetta Tharpe tune "Up Above My Head," from her solo debut album, Tomorrow Is My Turn. The show aired in the UK on BBC Two on New Year's Eve. You can now watch Giddens's two performance here for a limited time. Giddens was a guest on BBC Radio Scotland's Another Country with Ricky Ross in advance of her European tour, which begins later this month.

    Rhiannon Giddens could be seen on televisions across the United States over the weekend. She performed "Cry No More" on Shining a Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America, a two-hour event airing on A&E Networks and iHeartRadio stations Friday night, and "Waterboy" on PBS's Austin City Limits special of highlights from the Americana Honors & Awards show on Saturday night.     The Arcs will perform on BBC Two's Later… With Jools Holland live show tonight at 10 PM. Fans in the UK can tune in then to see the band perform "Outta My Mind" from Yours, Dreamily, their recently released debut album. Then, tune in to BBC Two again this Friday night for the full, one-hour episode of Later to see that and "Pistol Made of Bones" and "Put a Flower in Your Pocket." The Arcs kick off their first tour in Cologne, Germany, this Thursday, followed by stops in Berlin, Zurich, Brussels, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Milan. The North American leg of the tour begins December 1.

    Natalie Merchant was a guest on the Today show this morning, performing "Jealousy" and "Wonder" from her forthcoming album, Paradise Is There: The New Tigerlily Recordings. The album, due out next Friday, November 6, features new recordings of the beloved songs of her multi-platinum solo debut album, Tigerlily, as they have evolved over two decades of live performance. Watch the performances here. The documentary film that accompanies the album is being screened at theaters across the US, including Upstate Films in Rhinebeck, NY, where Merchant answers questions tonight.

    Rhiannon Giddens will take part in "Shining a Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America" on Friday, November 20, at 8 PM ET/PT. The concert will be recorded at The Shrine Auditorium in LA on Wednesday, November 18. The two-hour special event will air across A+E Networks and iHeartRadio music stations across the US. Giddens will join artists including Zac Brown Band, Eric Church, Jamie Foxx, Tori Kelly, John Legend, Miguel, Pink, Jill Scott, Ed Sheeran, Sia, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, and Pharrell Williams for the event, including a once-in-a-lifetime series of duets, focused on creating reconciliation and positive change in local communities.

They will join President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama and performers including Buddy Guy, Queen Latifah, Keb' Mo', Smokey Robinson, Esperanza Spalding, Brian Stokes Mitchell, James Taylor, and Usher, with special readings and remarks from Carol Burnett, in celebration of art and literature in unique American musical forms. The event will stream live at whitehouse.gov/live starting at 7:25 PM ET tonight. A Celebration of American Creativity: In Performance at the White House will premiere on PBS on Friday, January 8, 2016.
